StoresHelpSchools.net: A new way to donate money to help school activities
What we do:
HelpSchools maintains partnerships with many online retailers. You can visit these retailers by clicking their links on our stores page. When you enter a store via HelpSchools.net and buy a product or service, that store will pay us a percentage of your purchase price (the percentage varies). HelpSchools will donate a majority of that fee to the school you choose to support.
Why we do it:
Studies show that students who are involved in school activities tend to achieve greater success in academics and build valuable skills for their futures in college and society. Unfortunately, school activities are disappearing these days with school districts under greater budget pressure than ever before. Here at HelpSchools, we work to help schools to maintain a variety of extracurricular and co-curricular activities. We believe that our donations to schools will help students in several ways:
- Schools will have a greater range of activities available and will reach more students with varied interests. For example, a student may not be inclined toward sports but could fit in well in music.
- Schools will have a greater ability to recruit and retain outstanding coaches and advisors. These coaches will be more likely to remain at a school with well-supported activities and athletics than a school where they feel their position may be cut at the end of the school year.
- Coaches and advisors in the public schools today are under intense pressure to raise funds for their programs. With our donations, the coach will have more time and energy to spend coaching and working with students. This will lead to more individual attention for students who need it badly.
How to participate:
You can choose a school to support with the form on the HelpSchools home page. If your school isn't available, you can register it here. Then, visit the HelpSchools Stores. Clicking on a store's logo will take you to that store, and you can make your purchase there. HelpSchools will donate a portion of your purchase price to the school you choose to support.
You may sign up for an account with us if you wish. This allows you to keep track of your favorite stores and schools that you frequently support for easy access. An account is free and takes only a minute to set up.
If you don't want to choose a school to support or create an account, you can still shop from our stores. We will donate the money from your purchase to our monthly Featured State Activities Association. These associations that govern competitive athletics and activities in their states also need money to operate and benefit their member schools.
